You can choose to not receive up to three items. This works well for people with a dislike of a particular vege, or if they're already growing plenty of their own.

Currently we can't offer choice of your whole box, but this is something we'll be aiming towards as we keep offering more new products!

We aim to source food from the tip of the top left corner. However that is not always possible so we get as close as we can.

If the food is very local we are more lenient in terms of its naturalness. If the food is very natural then we are more lenient in terms of its localness.

We’re not about being perfect, we’re about being as good as possible… and getting better over time.

Some of it is very local, literally from “our own back yards”. The bulk of our food is from local farms within 100-200kms of your door.

But not all of it because of local growing climates some foods just aren’t available, and we still want to give you variety.

Bananas for example are one of the most popular foods but they do not grow in or around Auckland in any reasonable volume. So do we supply them to you or not?

Based on our philosophy of making the best choices possible, we have decided to give you the option to purchase bananas as an extra item, and we'll choose those that are closest to the local and natural criteria as possible.

Local organic growers are our favourite people to buy from however some of our organic produce also comes from further afield as organic producers are few in number so sourcing locally is sometimes impossible… for now.

Actually a lot of local farmers do want to make the shift to organic, but it’s not viable for them until there is enough demand for local organic (which we’re working on). With the efficiencies we’ve got in our Ooooby Box system, and our connections with our local farmers, we aim to close that gap.

So you’re not just buying a box, you’re changing the world!!! Hooray!

This presently makes up a small fraction of the food in your box, however we have a crafty plan to kick start more backyard production.

When you sign up one week's subscription is deducted from your credit card. After your first delivery your card will be charged for four weeks of your standard subscription in advance. Thereafter, your card will be charged for four weeks whenever your account balance reaches zero.

It's like a pre-pay system - if you order some extras in addition to your usual subscription and use up your credit faster, we'll bill you sooner. If you go on holiday and pause your subscription, your credit will be waiting for you when you return.
