look out for beautiful Chioggia and Golden beetroot (pictured ) which are slightly sweeter and milder but nutritionally practically identical to red beetroot . Beetroot grows well in the Uk and is available to us most of the year .
Catch them in Summer when they come bunched with fresh leaves which can also be eaten like chard.
