I live in the gorgeous, small village of Preston Candover. It’s a fantastic little place with plenty of hedgerows to forage yummy treats.
That is how our preserve business started really. My partner David was a farmer on a local farm, so I used to go blackberry picking to spend time with him when I had my second son Alfie. This included so many walks and talks about what I could make with all this fruit that I started making jam. So much jam was made, that I was giving it away. Everyone complimented me as to the flavours and encouraged me to do this as a job and I set up my own small business.
So Max’s Homemade Preserves came to be, qualifications were passed in food hygiene 1 and 2, my business registered and I haven’t looked back since.
