Gardner's Sourdough is a start up home bakery run by Owain Gardner in Wolsingham, Weardale. Using organic flour & natural ingredients only, Owain is producing a selection of fine sourdough and baked goods for The Paddock. Gardner's Sourdough focus on no waste baking and all breads and baked goods are handmade. All loaves are home baked in Owain's Aga.
Following a change in circumstances on January 31st 2020, and on the Eurostar back from Brussels, Owain had a baking epiphany. With the onset of Lockdown the opportunity to experiment and bake with only Sourdough Starter arose, since then he hasn’t looked back and plans his weeks in the heart of Weardale around his doughs. The opportunity to move into Organic Flour and bake in partnership with The Paddock is proving an exciting new avenue to explore.
