Kohlrabi with cream and herbs

1 kohlrabi
1 onion
1 tbsp butter
1/2 cup vegetable stock
50g cream
nutmeg, salt, pepper
fresh herbs (parsley, lovage)


Peel the kohlrabi, and remove any woody bits. Cut off the leaves and keep the tender inner greens, leave aside. Cut kohlrabi into thick sticks. Cut onion, and sautee in a pan with butter. Add kohlrabi sticks and vegetable stock. Let simmer until kohlrabi is tender (about 15 minutes.) Add cream and spices and simmer for another few minutes. Before serving, add fresh herbs and cut kohlrabi leaves.

Perfect side dish or can be used as pasta sauce.
